Sections were stained with toluidine blue (A and B), Safranin O (C), and Van Kossa (D). (E) Histogram of the length of the proximal femoral and tibial growth plates. Heights were measured at three different points along the width of the growth plate for each sample. Sample sizes: wild-type, n= 5; Fgfr3^tm1Schl/Fgfr3^tm1Schl, n=4; Fgfr3^tm2Schl/Fgfr3^tm2Schl, n=4.
