(A) Safranin O/Fast green staining with hematoxylin counterstain. Central fracture sites are indicated by asterisks. Higher magnification insets show enlarged active osteoblasts lining the WT bone compared with smaller immature osteoblasts seen in mutant fracture calluses. Bars: (main images) 1 mm; (insets) 10 um.
