Typical of muscular dystrophy, Large1^myd-3J/Large1^myd-3J mice exhibit degeneration of muscle fibers and regeneration, evidenced by rows of centrally located muscle fiber nuclei (see arrow). Muscle degenration is usually not visible until two or three months of age.
