Caption | Testes and ovaries from wild-type (Rpn13+/+) and Adrm1Gt(OST128063)Lex/Adrm1Gt(OST128063)Lex (Rpn13-/-) mice at 3 and 12 weeks of age were subjected to H&E staining. Arrows point to the following features: 1. Maturing sperm in the tubular lumen of wild-type testis which are absent in the mutant section, and Leydig cell clusters present in both sections of 12 week old mice; 2. Spermatids and spermatogonia in the wild-type testis are largely missing from mutant mice, and hypertrophic Sertoli cells in the mutant testes of 3 week old mice; 3. Primordial follicles with ova and granulose cells present only in the wild-type ovary, and are replaced by interstitial stroma in mutant ovary of 12 week old mice; 4. Ova are numerous in wild-type and few in mutant mice at 3 weeks of age. | ||||
