Sections of dorsal skin from wild-type or Porcn^tm1.1Lcm/Porcn⁺ Edil3^{Tg(Sox2-cre)1Amc}/0 embryos (semiadjacent to those shown in Fig. 4 F-M) immunostained for the basal marker keratin-14 (A and B) or the suprabasal marker keratin-10 (C and D). Despite the focal absence of hair follicles in this patch of mutant epidermis, basal-to-suprabasal differentiation of keratinocytes appears to occur normally (B and D). hf, hair follicle.
