In toto immunostaining of neuromuscular junctions on preparations of teased fibers from wild-type (WT; A, B) and Epb41l3^tm1.1Jglt/Epb41l3^tm1.1Jglt (KO; C, D) mice with rhodamine-conjugated alpha-bungarotoxin (red) and antibodies directed against neurofilament subunit NF-M (green). NF-M labeling revealed irregular caliber with dilated segments in myelinated preterminal axons of the Epb41l3^tm1.1Jglt/Epb41l3^tm1.1Jglt mouse (C, D, arrowheads).
