The rod-shaped eosinophilic inclusions were found in the vicinity of pyramidal cells of hippocampus in Gt(ROSA)26Sor^tm1Uga/Gt(ROSA)26Sor^tm1Uga Tg(Thy1-cre)703Vaw/0 (R26CT+/+;Cre+) mice (C,D). Hirano bodies were not observed in wild-type (WT) mice (A), or transgenic mice lacking Cre (R26CT+/+) (B). Arrow heads indicate Hirano bodies. Scale bar = 20 um.
