Spontaneous apoptosis in Pold1^tm1Uchi/Pold1⁺ (+/-) and Pold1^tm1Uchi/Pold1^tm1Uchi (-/-) mice was analyzed by TUNEL (terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling) assay. TUNEL-positive cells appeared in Pold1^tm1Uchi/Pold1^tm1Uchi blastocyst outgrowths. After taking a photo, the genotype of each embryo was determined by PCR. White horizontal bar indicates 50 um.
