Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Bmper expression (immunohistocytochemistry for GFP) and lung development were evaluated in wild-type (WT) mice versus mice with a heterozygous (HT; Bmpertm1Cpat/Bmper+) inactivation of Bmper, at postnatal day 0. Heterozygous lungs showed delayed branching morphogenesis and inadequate expanded alveoli, which were separated by overgrowing GFP-positive interstitial mesenchyme. Bars, 100 uM. Positive staining is brown and counterstaining is blue. Arrows show GFP-positive mesenchymal cells. Insets show 40x.
