Kdm6a^tm1.2Kaig/Kdm6a^tm1.2Kaig female embryos (UTX-/-) show defects in neural tube closure, cardiac development and hematopoiesis. Representative images of E10.5 and E11.5 embryos with indicated genotypes are shown. Abnormal or truncated posterior notochords were observed in mutant embryos. Red arrowheads indicate red blood cells in Aorta-Gonad Mesonephros, which were absent in mutant female embryos. Asterisks indicate cardiac effusion in mutant female embryos, represented by swollen pericardial sacs. White arrows point to the defects in neural tube closure.
