Vascular integrity defect in Rr249^tm1.1Ebres/Rr249^tm1.1Ebres (-/-) E13.5 mouse embryos revealed by PECAM-1 immunohistochemistry. Representative venous malformation (arrows, X40 and X100) and blood cell leakage (arrowheads, X100) in a transverse section from a homozygous mutant embryo. Blood cells reside both inside and outside the discontinuous endothelial cell layer.
