Jam3^tm1Rha/Jam3^tm1Rha (JAM-C^-/- C57BL/6) mice develop a severe hydrocephalus. A. In comparison to age-matched C57BL/6 wild-type littermates, they are often smaller and display a hydrocephalus. B. Histological analysis of hemalaun-stained brain cryosections reveals greatly enlarged lateral ventricles (arrows), a strikingly thinned cortex and overall alteration of brain anatomy in the mutant mice.
