Caption | Hydrocephalus in Jam3tm1Rha/Jam3tm1Rha C57BL/6 (JAM-C-/-) mice is accompanied by reactive gliosis. Immunostaining for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) reveals reactive gliosis in mutant mice. Mutant mice (symptomatic hydrocephalus score 1 shown here) exhibit extensive gliosis in the cortex (C and D) and hippocampus (G and H) as compared to wild-type (WT) littermates (A, B, E and F). In the cerebellum of mutants, only a mild increase of GFAP staining could be observed (K and L) as compared to WT cerebellum (I and J). Bars as indicated. | ||||
