Some Rere^eyes3/Rere^om (Rere^om/eyes3) mice live into adulthood but have microphthalmia which is more severe than that seen in Rere^eyes3/Rere^eyes3 (Rere^eyes3/eyes3) mice. These results suggest that the Rere^eyes3 allele is a hypomorphic allele of Rere.
