Caption | Bone resorption is increased in Nlrp3tm3.1Hhf/Nlrp3+ (NOMID) mice. Femoral sections from P13 mice were stained with H&E (A) or for TRAP activity (B). Mutant mice exhibited a larger bone marrow cavity in relation to overall bone size compared to wild-type (WT) mice (A). Abundant osteoclasts (OC) (stained in red, B) were present in the primary spongiosa and on the endocortical bone surface of mutant mice. There were fewer trabeculae (T) and thinner cortical bone (bracket) in mutant compared to WT mice. Original magnification: X2 (A), X10 (B, trabecular region), X20 (B, cortical region). | ||||
