H&E staining of testis sections from wild-type (WT), Exo1^tm3.1Wed/Exo1^tm3.1Wed (Exo1^EK/EK), and Exo1^tm2Wed/Exo1^tm2Wed (Exo1^null/null) mice shown at two different magnifications. In wild-type and Exo1^tm3.1Wed/Exo1^tm3.1Wed males, spermatogenesis progresses uniformly across the seminiferous epithelium. In contrast, the seminiferous tubules of Exo1^tm2Wed/Exo1^tm2Wed mice are severely depleted of spermatids and spermatozoa (bottom).
