Absence of vascular defects in the skin of adult Igs1^{tm11(CAG-Bgeo,-Edn2)Nat}/Igs1⁺ Tg(KRT5-cre)5132Jlj/0 (Z/Edn2;K5-Cre) mice. (Row 1) X-gal staining shows keratinocyte expression of the mutant knockin allele and efficient Cre-mediated recombination in the presence of the K5-Cre transgene. In the mutant mice, hyperpigmentation in the skin confirms the production of bioactive Edn2. No alterations in vascular architecture are apparent based on PECAM1 staining. (Scale bar: 100 um.)
