Representative images (X 100) of granulosa cell layer (GCL) and thecal cell layer (TCL) of tertiary follicles in wild-type (WT-C451) and Esr1^tm1.1Ics/Esr1^tm1.1Ics (C451A-ERalpha) mice are shown. The magnification (X 200) shows the stromal glandular interstitial cells. The percentages of the GCL and of the TCL were analyzed in tertiary follicles from wild-type and mutant mice, n = 4-6.
