Histology of hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained sections of heart from wild-type (WT) and Utf1^tm1Okud/Utf1^tm1Okud (KO) embryos at 14.5 dpc. Arrows indicate the myocardial layer. The heart of Utf1^tm1Okud/Utf1^tm1Okud mutants is covered with a thinner myocardial layer at 14.5. However, by E16.5, the thickness of the myocardial layer becomes equivalent to that of the wild-type embryo at E14.5, which is consistent with the delay in the developmental process. Scale bar corresponds to 200 um.
