Smad4^tm1.1Gsu/Smad4^tm1.1Gsu Ptf1a^{tm1.1(cre)Cvw}/Ptf1a⁺ Tg(MtTGFA)Lmb/0 (STP) mice displayed molecular signatures of human chronic pancreatitis. Significantly elevated Mucin-6 expression was detected in the STP mice. (A) Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis of Mucin-6 expression in the pancreata from Tg(MtTGFA)Lmb/0 (MT-TGFalpha) (panel i) and STP mice (panel ii) treated with zinc sulfate for 8 months. Elevated expression of Mucin-6 was detected in evolving acinar-to-ductal metaplasia (ADM) and PanIN lesions of the STP mice. Magnification panels i and ii, 200x.
