| Caption | High magnification fluorescent images of the pharyngeal arch region of E9.5-10.5 DAPI stained (a) wild-type and (b) arco/arco (arco piccolo) embryos. Arrowheads illustrate the abnormal size and shape of individual pharyngeal arches in each of the mutants identified in our screen. Mutant embryos at E9.5 have severely hypoplastic second arch, which abnormally resembles the third pharyngeal arch in size. By E10.5, all of the pharyngeal arches are reduced in size. | ||||
