Eif5b^em1(IMPC)J/Eif5b^em1(IMPC)J embryos cannot be recovered at E7.5 (0/29), nor are there excess resorption sites. Homozygous mutants are recovered at lower than expected ratios at E3.5 and appear as morula. Mutants fail to hatch from the zona and are dead after 72hr in vitro, never forming blastocysts.
