Sptssa^{tm1b(KOMP)Wtsi}/Sptssa^{tm1b(KOMP)Wtsi} mutants are recovered in expected ratios at E7.5 but are much smaller than littermates. No morphological primitive streak has formed, no morphological node or other hallmarks typical of E7.5 (ie headfolds) are present. RT-PCR indicates robust expression beginning at E7.5, with minimal expression at earlier stages. Additional information at websites.umass.edu/jmager/Sptssa
