Fastkd5^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg}/Fastkd5^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg} mutants are recovered in expected ratios at E7.5 but are smaller than littermates. A rudimentary egg-cylinder has formed, but no morphological primitive streak or other hallmarks typical of gastrulation at E7.5 (i.e. node, headfolds) are present. RT-PCR indicates expression in post implantation stages. Knock-in LacZ reporter expression is detected at E7.5 and E8.5. Additional information at websites.umass.edu/jmager/Fastkd5
