Caption Generation of the ErbinGt(BGA258)Byg allele. The Beta-gal gene (Beta-geo) was inserted downstream of exon 20 of the erbin gene, producing a chimerical mRNA of erbin and Beta-geo mRNAs. The mRNA encodes a fusion protein containing the N-terminal 693 aa residues and Beta-gal (thus named as Erbin1-693Betagal). (A) Schematic diagrams of the genetrap vector pGT2Lxf insertion between exons 20 and 21. pGT2Lxf contains En2, the splice acceptor/ Engrailed-2 exon and Beta-geo. Arrows indicate the orientation of genotyping primers 6, 6' and 6".
