Caption Top, control mouse and bottom, Dll3pu/Dll3pu. Homozygotes are identifiable at birth by their extremely short tails and shortened trunk region. The whole vertebral column is greatly shortened and highly irregular. Ribs and sternum are also abnormal, but the rest of the skeleton is normal.
