Image
Caption Section of retina from 18 day old normal (+/+ or +/hug) [Panel A] and littermate mutant (hug/hug) [Panel B]. The optic nerve (*) appears normal in both. Curved arrows in Panel A show axons passing from the vitreal surface into the optic nerve head in the normal retina. Mutant retina [Panel B] shows many ganglion axons are in fascicles within the inner plexiform layer (x's). Most ganglion cells (thin arrows) show displacement to the inner plexiform layer in the mutant vs. normal retina. Other abbreviations: inner nuclear layer (thick arrow); outer nuclear layer (arrowhead). Scale bar: 100 um
