Caption Morphology of intestinal polyps in Apctm1Mmt/Apc+ mice. A: Three polyps (arrowheads) in different stages of polyp development. The top one is a representative nascent polyp, whereas the middle and bottom ones are in more advanced stages. Polyps were viewed under a dissection microscope. (x17.5.) B: A nascent polyp viewed from the side. Most of the normal villi were removed for the photographic purpose. Note the double-layer wall of the polyp with the inner layer extending from the crypt region. (x70.) C & D: Two nascent polyps sectioned alon the axis of the crypts/villi. Note the normal villous epithelium covering the microadenomas that orginated from single crypts. (x280.)
