Phenotype Image Detail
Image
Caption Top panel shows eyes of live mice, CrygsOpj/Crygs+ ( (Opj/+, left) and CrygsOpj/CrygsOpj mice (Opj/Opj, center and right). For the first 2-3 months of life there is little difference in appearance between heterozygous and homozygous mouse eyes, but in the homozygote, opacity increases in severity with age. The lower panel shows isolated lenses for wild type (+/+), heterozygous and homozygous mice at 5 weeks and homozygous at 8 months. At early stages the mutation causes secondary fiber discontinuity, most notably in the homozygous mouse.
