| Caption | Electron microscopy of ascending aortic cross-sections from wild type (+/+, C and E) and Elntm1Dyl/Eln+ (+/-, D and F) mice at birth. Subendothelial (C and D) and medial sections (E and F) for both genotypes are compared. in wild type aortae, circumferentially oriented smooth muscle cells are interposed between well developed elastic lamellae.
