(A and B) Trichrome staining of Tg(Tek-cre)1Ywa/0 (Tie2-cre⁺Gata5^+/+) control and Gata5^tm1.2Nemr/Gata5^tm1.2Nemr Tg(Tek-cre)1Ywa/0 (Tie2-cre⁺Gata5^fl/fl) mutant frontal sections. There were no major differences between groups in heart size or wall thickness. (C and D) Anatomical analysis revealed the presence of bicuspid aortic vale (BAV) in Gata5^tm1.1Nemr/Gata5^tm1.1Nemr Tg(Tek-cre)1Ywa/0 mice. Arrows denote points of attachment of the valve cups to the aortic wall. (E and F) Trichrome staining of transverse sections of outflow tract at E11.5.
