Caption | Homozygous mutant Criptotm1.1Gmin/Criptotm1.1Gmin (F78A) embryos initiate gastrulation but subsequently arrest development. Morphology of wild-type (WT) embryos (A-D) and mutant litter mates (A'-D') dissected at 7.5 (A and A'), 8.5 (B and B'), 9.5 (C and C'), and 10.5 (D and D') dpc. Both anterior and posterior structures that are absent in Tdgf1 (cripto)-null mutants (Ding et al., 1998 ; Liguori et al., 2003 ) can be clearly recognized at up to 8.5 dpc but subsequently deteriorate (C' and D').
