Three lysine knock-in mutation in Hivep3 (Shn3) results in hypomorphic bone phenotype. Femurs from 8 week old wild-type (Shn3^+/+), Hivep3^tm2Glm/Hivep3⁺ (Shn3^KI/+), Hivep3^tm2Glm/Hivep3^tm2Glm (Shn3^KI/KI), Hivep3^tm1Glm/Hivep3⁺ (Shn3^-/+), Hivep3^tm2Glm/Hivep3^tm1Glm (Shn3^KI/-), and Hivep3^tm1Glm/Hivep3^tm1Glm (Shn3^-/-) mice were analyzed by microCT. The "-" allele represents the previously described germline null allele. Displayed are three-dimensional reconstructions of trabecular bone, midshaft cortical bone, and bone volume/trabecular bone volume (BV/TV), trabecular number (Tb. N), trabecular thickness (Tb. Th), and cortical thickness (C. Th) parameters. Values are mean + SD. "*" indicates a significant difference by the Student's t-test, t <0.05. "***" indicates p < 0.0005 and "**" indicates p < 0.005.
