Elof1^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg}/Elof1^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg} mutants are recovered in expected ratios at E7.5 but appear smaller than littermates. No molecular or morphological evidence of the primitive streak are evident, nor are the node or other hallmarks typical of E7.5 (i.e. headfolds) present. Both LacZ reporter and RT-PCR indicate wide-spread expression with notable absence in the visceral endoderm. See Tellier et al 2019 for more detail and in depth analysis.
