Mrpl22^{tm1b(KOMP)Mbp}/Mrpl22^{tm1b(KOMP)Mbp} mutants are recovered in expected ratios at E7.5 but are much smaller than littermates. A rudimentary egg-cylinder has formed, but no morphological primitive streak or other hallmarks typical of gastrulation at E7.5 (i.e. node, headfolds) are present. RT-PCR indicates robust expression in all stages. Weak knock-in LacZ reporter expression at E6.5, E7.5 and E8.5 is observed. Additional information at websites.umass.edu/jmager/Mrpl22
