Mrps18c^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg}/Mrps18c^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg} mutants are recovered in expected ratios at E7.5 but are much smaller than littermates. A rudimentary egg-cylinder has formed, but no morphological primitive streak or other hallmarks typical of gastrulation at E7.5 (i.e. node, headfolds) are present. No Brachyury (T)-positive cells are present at E7.5. RT-PCR indicates expression in all stages. Robust LacZ knock-in expression is observed at all stages.
