Mepce^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg}/Mepce^{tm1.1(KOMP)Vlcg} embryos cannot be recovered at E7.5 (0/29). Homozygous mutants are recovered at E3.5 in expected ratios and appear as early blastocysts. Mutants hatch from the zona with morphologically normal outgrowth colonies. RT-PCR indicates limited expression during pre-implantation, but robust post-implantation expression.
