  Author used a number of physical mapping methods including FIGE (Field Inversion Gel Electrophoresis), and Southern blotting to analyze overlapping clones spanning the Spi1 gene cluster on mouse Chromosome 12. The following order of loci on mouse Chromosome 12 were determined. Spi1-3 ~36kb - Serpina1c - Serpinald - ~35kb - Serpina1a - ~37kb - Serpina1b.
