Notes
  • Experiment
Using an intronic polymorphism, the mouse alpha 9 acetycholine receptor subunit gene (Chrna9) was mapped on the EUCIB backcross to mouse Chromosome 5 cosegregating with D5Nds2, thereby placing it proximal of Kit/Pdgfra. The recessive mouse mutation pirouette (pi) maps 4 cM proximal of Kit. The authors examined linkage between Chrna9 and pi in a cross segregating pi to test Chrna9 as a plausible candidate. They found 4/166 recombinations between Chrna9 and pi ruling out Chrna9 as a candidate for pi.
