  The authors analyzed affected progeny derived from a (C3HeB/FeJ-nr x CAST/Ei)F1 x (C3HeB/FeJ-nr x CAST/Ei)F1 intercross to identify five markers - D8Mit23, D8Mit143, D8Mit71, D8Mit222 and D8Mit159 - that cosegregated with the nr locus in all haplotypes. The authors also identified flanking markers D8Rck1 and D8Mit3 and localized the nr locus to a 1.4 cM segment in the intercross.
