• Experiment
  A series of overlapping YAC, BAC and P1 clones physically mapped approximately 700kb of the pudgy (pu) interval on mouse Chromosome 7. The following order of loci was reported: D7Mit77 - D7Kus1 - D7Mit266 - Zfp36 - D7Mit72 - D7Kus2 - D7Mit116. The pu region was placed betweeb D7Kus1 and D7Kus2. Complementation analysis determined the pu locus was contained entirely within 159kb BAC19k5. Sequence analysis of this BAC suggested that a 4bp deletion in Dll3 is associated with the pu phenotype.
