Notes
  • Experiment
108 (DBA/2J x B10.D2)F2 mice were subjected to quantitative trait analysis (QTL) for chronic demyelinating disease caused by Theiler's murine encephalomyelitis (Tmevd3). DBA/2J mice are susceptibile to the disorder, B10.D2 mice are resistant. A significant association of the demyelinating phenotype with Chromosome 14 marker D14Mit54 was indicated. This QTL region was large and covered approximately 54 cMs. The authors observed two peaks within the QTL and suggested that two loci may be involved in the phenotype. This second locus is designated as Tmevd4.
