    A significant difference was observed between inbred strains C57BL/6J (smaller) and DBA/2J (larger) in compensatory renal hypertrophy (CRH) allowing for the mapping of the quantitative trait (QTL) in male mice from BXD (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J) recombinant inbred RI strains. As association of the QTL with markers on mouse Chromosome 11 was observed with a peak LOD score of 15.8 at marker D11Mit14.
