  • Experiment
    Overlapping clones were aligned to physically map the H3a region of mouse Chromosome 2. Chimerism and Chromosome 2 localization of YAC ends was determined by PCR amplification of genomic DNA and hamster-mouse somatic cell monochromosomal hybrids that contain only mouse Chromosome 2. Additional confirmation was derived using the JAX BSS [(C57BL/6JEi x SPRET/Ei)F1 x SPRET/Ei] panel or a panel of (B10 x 129)F1 variants that demonstrate loss heterozgosity around the Zfp106 locus. The following order of loci was reported: D2Dcr20 - D2Mit444 - D2Dcr17 - D2Dcr15 - Rad51 - D2Mit133 - D2Dcr14 - D2Dcr19 - D2Dcr16 - D2Dcr22 - D2Mit395 - Ltk - D2Dcr23 - Tyro3 - Capn3 - D2Dcr21 - Epb4.2 - D2Dcr24 - D2Mit190 - D2Dcr11 - D2Dcr6 - D2Dcr7 - D2Dcr8 - D2Dcr13 - D2Dcr18 - Ckmt1- D2Dcr12 - D2Dcr2 - D2Dcr5 - B2m - D2Dcr4 - Trnah - D2Dcr10 - D2Dcr3 - D2Dcr9 - D2Mit17. Analysis of YAC expression indicates that Sh3bp3 most likely maps proximal of Epb4.2. Loss of heterozygosity on clone M3H6 supports the mapping of Zfp106 in close proximity to Capn3. Tyro3 and Capn3 are reported to be oriented similarly on the chromosome with transcription proceeding from the centromere to the telomere.
