  Allelic analysis of B6C3Fe-sy/+ and (B6C3Fe-sy/+ x CAST/Ei +/+)F1 mice indicated that D18Mit124, D18Mit181, D18Mit52, and D18Mit205 were deleted from the sy region of mouse Chromosome 18. The authors estimate this deletion size as approximately 1.1 cM. In a backcross panel derived of 144 mice from (C57BL/6J x CAST/Ei)F1 x C57BL/6J it was observed that D18Mit123, D18Mit124 and D18Mit181 did not recombine, nor did D18Mit52, D18Mit205 or D18Mit208, but the (D18Mit123, D18Mit124 and D18Mit181) cluster showedone recombination with the (D18Mit52, D18Mit205 and D18Mit208) cluster. From the cross data the deletion size can be estimated as 0.7 cM.
