Notes
  • Reference
The authors in J:107013 (Hui L; Lu J; Han Y; Pilder SH) in 2006 show that the original Ccub can be divided into two separate genetic elements one (Ccub1) mapping between Dnahc8 and D17Mit191 and the other (Ccub2) mapping with Pou5f1. Tsga2 was suggested as a strong candidate for Ccub1

The authors examined the expression of the Hst6-specific flagellar assembly phenotype in sperm from mice homozygous for M. spretus - M. m. domesticus recombinant Chromosome 17 homologs whose breakpoints map within the hst6 locus. SSLP analysis of these homologs demonstrate that the flagellar assembly defect, "whipless" maps to a region less than 0.2 cM between D17Mit61 and D17Mit135, coincident with Ccua. These studies also defined more precisely the map positions of the Ccub and Stop1-p genes. The proximal two thirds of the Stop1-p locus has been cloned as part of the Tff3 BAC contig and covers ~465kb. The T-2p BAC carries the proximal breakpoint for the Stop1-p locus and the distal breakpoint of the Ccua locus. The proximal breakpoint of the Ccua locushas been isolated on the H-A BACa clone. The Stop1-p distal/Ccub proximal recombinant breakpoint has not isolated. Analysis of 23 BACs mapping to four contigs within the Hst6 locus gave a probable order of the markers used in this study on mouse Chromosome 17 as: D17Mit167 - D17Mit45 - D17Mit101 - Pim1 - (D17Mit228, D17Mit229, D17Mit60, D17Mit61) - D17Shp1 - (D17Mit134 - D17Mit199) - D17Mit81 - D17Mit135 - Tff3 - D17Mit146 - D17Mit191 - Cryaa, D17Mit175) - D17Mit63 - D17Leh89. The order of the markers within the brackets has not been determined. The additional markers here represent the BAC end clones used to determine the physical orientation of the loci wihin the contig..
