  The authors performed long range PCR on 129/SvJ mouse genomic DNA using primers specific to the 5' and 3' noncoding sequence of Krt2-6a and Krt2-6b. These studies indicated that the Krt2-6a and Krt2-6b genes occur in tandem with the same transcriptional orientation and are separated by approximately 13kb of genomic sequence.
