  Pulse field gel and PCR analysis of various YAC clones indicated the following order of genes within the distal imprinting region of mouse Chromosome 2: Gnas - Gnasxl - Gnas, with Nesp located 16kb upstream of Gnasxl. Gnasxl is located approximately 31 to 41kb upstream from Gnas. The smallest YAC analyzed was approximately 150kb. It is important to note that all three genes are contained within the same transcribed unit with Gnasxl and Gnas sharing exon 2 of Gnas.
