  Authors sequenced overlapping P1 clones identified during the construction of a refined genetic and physical map of the Wld region (seeJ:49401). Together with information from RT-PTR analysis and cDNA library screening the authors were able to place the Kif1b gene near the Wld region on mouse Chromosome 4. The order of the markers are: Centromere - Nppa - D4Mit225 - Wld - Kif1b - D4Mit310 - Tnfrsf9 - Kcnab2 - telomere.
