Klra4 Klra4Chok visible phenotype
Notes
  • Experiment
The authors had previously localized the Chok (CHO cell killing) phenotype to the natural killer (NK) gene complex on mouse Chromosome 6. using a lectin-facilitated lysis assay, the authors identified a monoclonal antibody (mAb 4E4) that blocked B6 - mediated CHO lysis. Flo cytometry indicated that mAb 4E4 reacted specifically with Klra4. Subsequent experiments involving transfer of the Klra4 gene into BALB/c NK cells conferred the Chok phenotype to these cells. The authors were thus able to show that the Chok phenotype was due to the C57BL/6 Klra4 gene on mouse Chromosome 6.
